IAT Advanced Neutron Detector - Proven Helium-3 Replacement 

The Innovative American Technology (IAT) advanced neutron detector system was developed in 2007. The superior performance has been verified at multiple national laboratories including Department of Homeland Security test sites and US Department of Energy Laboratories. The IAT neutron detector system utilizes IAT high speed electronics, a composite detector and the Radiation Threat Identification System (RTIS) software to provide neutron detector performance equal to or better than the "gold standard" - helium-3 neutron detector.

Helium-3 is one of the most abundant elements found in our universe... however, it is very rare on earth. The recognition that helium-3 is a limited resource with increasing costs provides a unique opportunity for the proven IAT neutron detector in a wide variety of applications.  

The RTIS family of products were all originally designed and tested using the IAT neutron detector, these include: the Spreader Bar Radiation Verification System (SBRVS), the Straddle Carrier Radiation Verification System (SCRVS) and the Mobile Radiation Verification System (MRVS).  The RTIS products are ready for deployment and are the only cargo inspection systems capable of meeting the new requirements for helium-3 replacement.
