RTIS Systems for Port Security
The Radiation Threat Identification System (RTIS) was designed as a platform to enable multiple products and applications to more effectively detect and prevent radiological attacks on the US. The U.S. Federal Government requires a technology that enables security solutions, which detect illicit nuclear materials and radiological sources. The two primary targets are special nuclear material (SNM) used in the creation of atomic weapons and radioactive dispersal devices (RDDs) that use large commercial radioactive sources coupled with a high explosive to provide a non-nuclear blast, leaving significant radioactive contamination.
SBRVS - Awarded DHS Qualified Anti-Terrorist Technology Designation (QATT).
The Spreader Bar Radiation Verification System (SBRVS) deploys radiation and fissile material sensors onto the spreader bar of a gantry crane and enables 100% verification of the containers being moved between ships and the port for hazardous radiological materials. The SBRVS verifies the shipping containers without impacting the flow of commerce and with minimal false positives / false negatives.
The SBRVS was was successfully tested and audited by the US Department of Energy under contract for audited performance verification. The acceptance test plan was based on IEEE requirements in addition to ANSI 42.38 and ANSI 42.43 specifications. The SBRVS meets or exceeds all specified standards.
SCRVS - RTIS Platform Awarded DHS Qualified Anti-Terrorist Technology Designation (QATT).
The
Shuttle Carrier Radiation Verification System (SCRVS) deploys
radiation and fissile material sensors onto a self propelled frame
structure that can scan rows of containers stacked up to four high.
The SCRVS provides 100% verification of the containers in a stack at
a port for hazardous radiological materials. The SCRVS verifies the
shipping containers without impacting the flow of commerce and with
minimal false positives / false negatives.
HARVS - RTIS Platform Awarded DHS Qualified Anti-Terrorist Technology Designation (QATT).
The
Horizontal Array Radiation Verification System (HARVS) deploys
radiation and fissile material sensors onto a horizontal frame
creating a detection zone for vehicles to pass through. The vehicles
may be slowed or stopped for more extensive primary scanning. The
HARVS can also be deployed as a Secondary Inspection Station. The
HARVS provides 100% verification of containers driven through the
horizontal portal. The HARRVS verifies the shipping containers
without impacting the flow of commerce and with minimal false
positives / false negatives.
MRVS - RTIS Platform Awarded DHS Qualified Anti-Terrorist Technology Designation (QATT).
The Mobile Radiation Verification System (MRVS) deploys radiation and fissile material sensors and radiation directional finders on mobile platforms such as a vessel or a vehicle. The MRVS provides an ability to identify and analyze small vessels and protect outlying perimeters. radiation directional finders onto a vessel or a vehicle. The MRVS can be combined with GPS and Radar systems as it identifies the heading of detected radiological or fissile materials provides isotope identification. Multiple fixed or mobile radiation directional finders can be used for triangulation and positioning of the source materials.
RDF Net - RTIS Platform Awarded DHS Qualified Anti-Terrorist Technology Designation (QATT).
The Radiation Directional Finder Network (RDF-Net) deploys radiation and fissile material sensors onto a vessel or vehicle self propelled frame structure that can scan rows of containers stacked up to four high. The SCRVS provides 100% verification of the containers in a stack at a port for hazardous radiological materials. The SCRVS verifies the shipping containers without impacting the flow of commerce and with minimal false positives / false negatives.
