Chemical and Biological Sensor Systems
The Innovative American Technology (IAT) chemical and biological sensor system is based on an advanced Electro-Mechanical Spectrometer (IEMS). The IEMS deposits molecules onto an electro-mechanical cantilever. Specific frequencies of light are applied to the molecules at an angle of incidence using tunable lasers and the heat absorption is measured. The molecular heat adsorption induces micro-cantilever surface stress that can be measured as a direct response. A photothermal image is provided to identify a specific chemical or biological material. The photothermal image is in direct correlation to the IR spectra database.
